Verna Marie Herr, 80, of Kendallville, IN (formerly of Goshen & Syracuse, IN) passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville, IN.

She was born on July 26, 1941 in Goshen, IN to Warren E. & Edna M. (Eby) Risser.

She grew up in Goshen and graduated from Goshen High School.

She was married in 1972 to Ronald Herr who preceded her in 2003.

She was formerly employed at Reese Products in Goshen and Publix Supermarkets in Florida.

She also lived in Syracuse, Florida and Holland, MI before moving to Kendallville.

She is survived by daughter, Vicki Owen of Syracuse; son, Gregory (Debra) Evans of Holland, MI; daughter-in-law, Sherri Evans-Holloway of Wasola, MO; 4 grandchildren, Benjamin Evans, Allison (Gamble) Hilsman, Dustin Evans-Holloway and Tanner Evans-Holloway; great-granddaughter, Luna Hilsman; sister, Helen Stuart; 2 brothers, Gerald (Eva) Risser & Eldon (Carolyn) Risser and stepsister, Mary Helen Davidson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, son, Mark Evans; son-in-law, Ryan Owen; stepmother, Mary Risser; sister, Imogene Myers; brother, Laurel Risser and stepsister, Norma Reigsecker.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
