Velma  Miller
Velma Miller, 69, of Howe, died unexpectedly at 5:07 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 8, 1949, in Marshall County, to Oscar and Katie (Schmucker) Schmucker.
On July 30, 1969, in Nappanee, she married Ray J. Miller; he died April 26, 2016.
Surviving are two daughters, Wanda (Gerald) Miller of Nappanee, Cynthia Schwartz of Elkhart; three sons, Joseph (Vonda) Miller of Shipshewana, Wayne Miller of Howe, Gene (Nadine) Miller of Goshen; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Frieda Stutzman of Nappanee, Esther Miller of Topeka, Vera (Ola) Yoder of Nappanee; five brothers, Homer (Karen) Schmucker of Milford, Raymond (Kathryn) Schmucker of Virginia, Oscar (Laura) Schmucker Jr. of Nappanee, Lamar (Lois) Schmucker of Ligonier and Gary (Susan) Schmucker of Bremen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Clara Schmucker.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, and after 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at the Jerry Troyer residence, 4295 W. 650 North, Howe.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, also at the Jerry Troyer residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Ben Miller and the home ministers.
Burial will be in Scott-Seybert Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is handling the arrangements.
