Susie J. Hochstetler Obituary

Susie J. Hochstetler, 84, of Rome City (district: 22-3), died at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, March 24, at her residence.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1941, in Middlebury, to Jerry and Emma (Eash) Hostetler.

On Dec. 1, 1966, in Nappanee, she married Wilbur M. Hochstetler. He survives.

Survivors in addition to her husband are two sons, James Lee (Alberta) Hochstetler of CO, Marlin Hochstetler of Vermontville, MI; four daughters, Judith (David) Singer of Syracuse, Sue Etta Hochstetler of Syracuse, Emma Jean (Andy) Coblentz of Clare, MI, Amelia Kay (John) Overholt of Kalona, IA; two daughters-in-law, Sue Anna Hochstetler of Rome City and Rose Hochstetler of Kalona, IA; 39 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Anna Ard of TX, Lucy Fry of Syracuse, Emma (Ervin) Troyer of LaGrange, Martha (Don) Haab of Syracuse, Amelia Fry of Shipshewana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Alan Ray Hochstetler and Mark Wayne Hochstetler; five brothers, Levi, Henry, Jacob, Jerry Jr. and Amos Hostetler; four sisters, Rachel Hochstetler, Fannie Hostetler, Esther Hochstetler, Lizzie Ann Borkholder.

Susie was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25 and all day Wednesday, March 26, at the family's residence: 0890 E. Northport Rd, Rome City.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, at the same residence.

Services will be conducted by Bishop Wayne Yoder and the home ministers.

Burial will be in Scenic Hills Cemetery, Rome City.

Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is assisting the family with arrangements..
