Nappanee, Indiana - Susan "Sue" Hochstetler, age 70 of Nappanee, passed away on Monday morning, Feb. 23, at the Waters of Wakarusa.

Sue was born on Jan. 7, 1956 in Gary, Indiana to George and Betty (Hyde) Sowards.

She was a graduate of Merrillville High School.

Sue lived most of her life in the Nappanee area and worked for many years at Goldenrod in Goshen, as a caretaker for people with special needs.

Sue enjoyed reading in her free time.

Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Sue is survived by her husband, Glen Hochstetler of Nappanee; 2 children, Fredo (Laura) Figueroa of Granger, and Jennifer Zybak of Chicago, Illinois; 2 stepdaughters, Alyssa of Bremen, and Amanda of Lakeville; 9 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Cindy Lynn of Bremen, and Mary Robbins of Elkhart.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Earl Sowards; and 2 sisters, Cheryl Gonzalez and Elaine Orton.

Visitation will be held from Noon-2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m., at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Pastor Tom Nelson will officiate.
