Susan R. Cripe (Sue) Obituary

Monticello, IN - Sue Cripe Rockenbaugh died unexpectedly at home in Monticello, IN at the age of 72 on June 2, 2025.


Sue is survived by her husband, Stephen Cripe; children, Katy Harringer of Monon, IN and Frank Harringer and his wife, Charla of Lafayette, IN; her brother David Rockenbaugh of Monon, IN; and a grandson, Frank Corbin Harringer II, of Auburn, IN.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Ray Rockenbaugh Jr.; brother Steven Rockenbaugh; and sister Jan Zeiger Rockenbaugh.


Sue was born on April 21, 1953, in Goshen, IN. She graduated from Penn High School in Mishawaka, IN in 1971. Sue was an accomplished singer and oboist. She was also a member of the Jubilee Ringers of Elkhart County, a handbell choir, for many years. She was a gentle individual who loved reading, filling her house with rescued dogs and cats, coloring, crafts, flower gardening, flea marketing, antiques, fishing and cooking.
