Topeka, IN - Susan O. Bontrager, 81, of Topeka, (district: 29-2), died at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at her residence.
She was born on June 20, 1944, in LaGrange County, to Ora E. and Anna (Troyer) Hochstetler.
On Oct. 31, 1963, in Howe, she married Ora J. Bontrager. He survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are eight children, Sharon (David) Miller of LaGrange, Eugene (Rosanna) Bontrager, Rita (Lavon) Borkholder, both of Goshen, John (Carolyn) Bontrager, Mary (John) Nissley, both of Millersburg, Martin Bontrager of Myakka City, Florida, Stephen Bontrager of Slocomb, Alabama, Ruth (Cletus) Hostetler of Topeka; 48 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Leona (Lavern) Raber, Mary (Erwin) Miller, LeAnna (Glenford) Hofstetter, all of Shipshewana; two brothers, John (Edna Mae) Hochstetler, Amos (Anna Fern) Hochstetler, both of Howe; brother-in-law, Glen Bontrager of Shipshewana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin Troyer; sister, Wilma Bontrager.
Susan was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18 and all day Thursday, March 19, at the family's residence, 7815 W. 600 S., Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 20, also at the family's residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Wayne Miller and the home ministers.
Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery, Topeka.
Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is assisting the family with arrangements.
