Steven James Baker, 38, of Cromwell, went home to be with his Lord on March the 15, at Goshen Hospital. His passing was due to a pulmonary embolism.
He grew up in Middlebury and graduated from Elkhart Christian Academy. He also graduated from Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne.
Steve was a mechanical engineer at SCO Engineering, Fort Wayne.
He attended First Baptist Church of Elkhart and departed this world loving the Lord.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, working outside, and riding his Harley-Davidson.
He was known as a handyman that could fix just about anything.
He will be remembered as a man that loved to spend time with his family, especially his daughter.
He is survived by his precious little girl, Emarie Baker; and her mother, Lindsey Baker; girlfriend, Mackenzie Thornton; and her mother, Cindy Thornton; mother, Tammy Baker; brother, James Baker; sister, Kristine Baker; and his nephew, Fin Yoder. He is also survived by many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ron Baker; uncle, James Watson; paternal grandparents, George and Mary Baker; maternal grandparents, Ned and Audrey Watson.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 29, at First Baptist Church of Elkhart, 53953 County Rd 17, Bristol.
A celebration of life service will follow visitation, beginning at 11:00 a.m., also at the church.
Pastor Phil Byars will officiate; and memorial contributions may be given in memory of Steve to the Emarie Baker benefit fund at any Interra Credit Union.
