Scott G. Shannon Obituary

Scott G. Shannon, 71, died unexpectedly Monday, March 17, at his home of natural causes.

He was born Sept. 17, 1953 in Goshen to Robert and Marilyn (Jensen) Shannon.

On June 6, 1976, he married C. Jean Otto in New Paris.

She survives along with his mother, Marilyn, Syracuse; stepmother, Kay Shannon Collins, Wawaka; a son, Sean Shannon, Syracuse; grandchildren, Madeline, Ethan and KayLee; and two sisters, Connie Spillman, Elkhart and Teresa Huffer, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A 1972 Wawasee High School graduate, Mr. Shannon worked in several local industries, including Syracuse Rubber, and Forest River/Coachman, Middlebury manufacturing.

Scott was an avid Rendezvous camper, pre-1840's style camping.

He was a member of the Stones Trace Regulators, Menominee Muzzle Loaders and the Pokagon Longrifles.

His hobbies included shooting muzzle loading rifles and "candy canons" for children.

Scott loved bartering with people to find the best ways to help others.

He was a member of the Burr Oak Church, Ligonier, where he served as a trustee.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen and again on Friday, March 21 from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service. Family friend, Rev. Dick Carpenter will officiate.

Burial will follow at Solomon Creek Cemetery, Syracuse.
