Roger Eugene Yoder, age 66, of Goshen, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8.

He was born Nov. 29, 1957 to Larry Yoder and Esther Pauline (Newell) Smith in Goshen.

Roger was a talented mechanic.

He held every office of the Ruffriders Four Wheel Drive Club, including president, during his 20 year long membership.

He also enjoyed shooting; and was a member of the Nappanee Conservation Club.

Roger was known to be very protective of his people, and could be counted on to back that up.

Roger is survived by his brother, James (Denise) Smith of Goshen; sister, Karen (Dave) Meadows; daughters, Tatiana (Cody) Foust, Megan Yoder, and Cassandra Yoder; stepsons, John 'JC' Friend II and Robert 'Robby' Friend; stepdaughter, Samantha Friend; as well as grandchildren, Zora Miller, Isabella Miller, Penelope Miller, Ariel Foust, Jasper Foust, Kevin Gains, and Olivia Friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald Smith, Thomas Smith, and Myron Smith; and stepfather, Thomas Byron Smith.

Family and friends will gather to remember Roger on Monday, Aug. 19, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier, IN 46767.
