Richard "Dick" VanDiepenbos, loving husband and father of three children, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the age of 75.
Dick was born July 13, 1945, in Goshen, to Neil and Augusta (Holderman) VanDiepenbos.
He retired from NIPSCO after 34 years of service.
On May 27, 1966, he married the love of his life, Kathy Ritter. They raised two daughters, Lori (Tom) Fultz and Kristi Carter, and one son, Mike (Lisa) VanDiepenbos.
Dick's passion was baseball, fishing and any sports. He was much admired by friends and family and will be dearly missed.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ruth Ann Grove and Nancy Summers.
He is survived by his brother, Tom (Edna) VanDiepenbos; his wife and three children; and six grandchildren, Travis (Ashley) Green, Robert Fultz, Ashley Chaney, Jada Carter, Alex Hogenboom and Clayton VanDiepenbos. Several great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews, also survive him.
Due to COVID-19, there will be private family services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Hospice or the Syracuse American Legion.
