Middlebury, IN - Richard Dean Frey, 82, of Middlebury, died at 6:00 am, on Friday, June 6, at his residence. He was born on October 21, 1942, in Sturgis, MI, to Rollin and Florence (Yoder) Frey. On June 21, 1969, in Union, MI, he married Marilyn Kay Hall, she died November 3, 2024. Surviving are two sons, Matthew (Jill) Frey of Middlebury, Joshua (Laura) Frey of Columbia City; four grandchildren, Abby, Faith, Logan, and Reed; one brother, Clifford Frey of Goshen; two sisters, Barbara (Eugene) Bontrager of Middlebury, Thelma (Galen) Peters of LaGrange; seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a son, Nicholas Frey. Richard retired from Middlebury Moulding/LP after 40 years of work. He raised horses and cattle and was a volunteer in 4-H for 50 years. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Fellowship. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10 at Pleasant Ridge Christian Fellowship, 15510 CR 22, Middlebury. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on Wednesday, June 11, also at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Mike Bird. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given to Pleasant Ridge Christian Fellowship. Online condolences may be offered at millerstewartfuneralhome.com.
