LaGrange, IN - Perry E. Bontreger, 69, of LaGrange (district: 47-2), died at 4:11 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at his residence.

He was born on May 20, 1956, in LaGrange, to Elmer and Viola (Yoder) Bontreger.

On Dec. 16, 1976, in Plain City, OH he married Mary Lou Kramer. She survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are three sons, Steven Bontreger of Plain City, OH, Lyle (Rachel) Bontreger of Howe, Dale (Tessa) Bontreger of Shipshewana; three daughters, Arlene (Mervin) Bontrager of Centreville, MI, Pauline (Galen) Miller of Howe, Karen (Joel) Yoder of LaGrange; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Waneta Yoder of Goshen, Mary Ropp of Middlebury, Esther (Phillip) Yoder of Burr Oak, MI, Edna (Wilbur) Bontrager of Topeka, Freda (Lee) Richardson, Carolyn Bontreger, Ruth (Orla) Bontrager, all of Shipshewana; four brothers, Glen (Polly) Bontreger of Topeka, Eldon Bontreger of Minnesota, Vernon (Sue) Bontreger of LaGrange, Ora (Christine) Bontreger of Battle Creek, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Perry was a retired farmer, woodworker, and member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday July 3, and all day Friday, July 4, the family's residence, 2265 N. 450 W., LaGrange.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, at the Levi Schrock residence, 2435 N. 450 W., LaGrange. Services will be conducted by Bishop Mahlon H. Lambright, Bishop Jacob Jones, and the home ministers.

Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.

Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is assisting the family with arrangements.
