Paul W. Bradley, 88, passed away Monday, March 7, at Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born Sept. 3, 1927 in South Bend, to Garfield and L. Irene (Chinn) Bradley.

On Aug. 22, 1953 in Elkhart, he married Mary K. Miller. She survives along with three children, Steven Bradley and Scott (Laurie) Bradley, both of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Jack (Donna) Bradley of Jones, Michigan: five grandchildren, James Bradley, Sarah Morris, Travis Bradley, Aaron Bradley and Joe Bradley; a great-grandson, Liam Morris; and a brother, William (Naomi) Bradley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clayton and Max.

Paul graduated in 1946 from Elkhart High School and attended Ball State University. He served proudly in the U.S. Army in Korea and received the Infantry Medal and a Bronze Star with Valor.

Paul worked for Conrail for 38 years, retiring in 1983 as a conductor. He also worked for Old Orchard Golf Course in the Pro Shop and was a courier for IOI for 10 years. He volunteered at Elkhart General Hospital as a Red Coat for more than 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion and attended Northside Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed going to the spa.

In honoring his request, cremation will take place.

A celebration of life service for Paul will be begin at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Carl Henry will preside.

Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart, where the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Elkhart Disabled American Veterans will render full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Northside Baptist Church or Elkhart Hospice House.
