Opal Grace Vance
Opal Grace Vance, 100, Goshen, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born Oct. 4, 1919, in Millersburg, to Oliver Jasper and Alta Elizabeth (Brock) Sark.
On Feb. 4, 1940, in Shipshewana, she married Everett C. Vance. He died Oct. 8, 1997.
Surviving are daughters, Beverly (Steven) Butt, Rotunda West, Florida, Barbra (Allen) Postma, Flower Mound, Texas, sons, Blaine (Jane) Vance, Janesville, Wisconsin, Brian (Stacey) Vance, Fort Wayne, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, daughter, Brenda Poff, five brothers and five sisters.
Opal was a 1937 graduate of Millersburg High School. She was a seamstress, homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Fish Lake.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, and the funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. The Rev. James Clifton will officiate. Burial will follow at Benton Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church, Fish Lake.
