Norma J. Miller
She was born June 26, 1932, in Goshen, to Arthur and Lucille (Hess) Miller.
Surviving are three children, Brenda K. Mortimer, Edwardsburg, Michigan, Craig P. Miller and Curtis P. Miller, both of Granger; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two siblings, Esther Cender and Weldon (Jackie) Berkey, both of Goshen, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, David P. Mortimer; and brother-in-law, Mahlon Cender.
Norma was a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren, where she sang in the choir, was a worship leader and was co-chairperson of the worship team. She was also a member of United Commercial Travelers.
She enjoyed bowling, reading, playing euchre, Skip-Bo and working crossword puzzles.
Norma loved to travel after her retirement and took many trips with her friends, her siblings and her son, Curt. She especially enjoyed trips to Alaska and Hawaii.
She was a huge supporter of Notre Dame women's basketball, holding season tickets for many years; as well as Notre Dame football and basketball.
She was also a huge Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. She often traveled to Chicago to watch them in person.
Norma always supported her children and their dreams. She was always there for Little League, band concerts, baseball games, choir concerts, marching band, you name it. She made sure they were able to join extracurricular activities such as Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and 4-H.
Norma also did volunteer service with Mennonite Central Committee for eight years in Eureka, Illinois, and one year in Elgin, Illinois.
She also worked at many jobs including Cleveland Elementary School in the cafeteria and maintenance, Personalized Cleaners for seven years full time and four years part time. She also worked at Crown International for 21 years, the last nine years as a coordinator in the wire-cut department.
A celebration of life service for Norma will take place Creekside Church of the Brethren at a later date. Burial will be private at a later date at West Goshen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the church of Maple Leaf Commons in Goshen.
