Nancy J. Pennington, 81, passed away at 5:14 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born Oct. 14, 1934 in Osceola, to David and Hazel (Rose) Young.

On Oct. 28, 1974 in Dunlap, she married Jack E. Pennington, who survives.

She worked in purchasing at Selmer, retiring in 1996. Nancy and Jack enjoyed many years boating on Lake Michigan and traveling to warm destinations together. She enjoyed her swimming pool, her flowers and her dogs. She always had a project going to keep her busy.

Also surviving are her two daughters, Cindy (John) Carr of Fort Wayne and Carla (Bill) LaBrie of Elkhart; stepdaughter, Micki (Bob) Olson of Elkhart; two sisters, Sue Graves and Mary Ann Stanfield, both of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Chelsea Carr and Ashley Borders; five stepgrandchildren; and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two stepsons, Bill and Mark Pennington.

A memorial service in Nancy's honor will take place Saturday, April 30, at 1 p.m. with visitation from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Walley Mills Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E Jackson Blvd., Elkhart.
