Michael D. O'Connell Obituary

Michael D. O'Connell, 74, passed away Saturday, March 15, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born September 23, 1950 in Wabash, Indiana, son of Claris Lee and Marjorie (Patkus) O'Connell .

On December 30, 1978 he married Jana Wood in Warsaw.

Surviving are wife, Jana O'Connell; two sons, Bruce Lee (Stephanie) O'Connell of Elkhart, Shane Allen O'Connell of Bristol; a brother, Danny (Annette) O'Connell, Cutler; two grandchildren, Blake O'Connell and Bo O'Connell; and several nephews and nieces.

Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1972 stationed in South Korea. He was a member of the VFW Post 985, Goshen.

He collected eagles, liked to tell funny stories about his life, was a body builder, and liked arm wrestling. He also enjoyed camping, riding in his 1949 Ice Blue Chevy Thunder and listening to 70's music.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
