Shipshewana, IN - Mervin H. Eash, 89, of Shipshewana, (district:43), died unexpectedly from natural causes at 9:36 a.m. on Saturday, June 6 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 16, 1937, in LaGrange County, to Harvey J. and Mary N. (Troyer) Eash.

On May 16, 1957, he married Gertrude Bontrager. She died on Sept. 24, 2005.

On Oct. 4, 2008, in Shipshewana, he married Anna Schrock. She survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are daughter, Mary (Larry) Troyer of Shipshewana; three stepchildren, Joseph (Ruth) Schrock of Shipshewana, Mary (Larry) Lehman of Nappanee, Samuel Jr. (Carol) Schrock of Shipshewana; three grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Elmer Bontrager of Middlebury.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; great-grandson, Lyndon Troyer; six brothers, Raymond, John, infant Ervin, Freeman, Harvey Jr., and Allen Eash; nine sisters, Edna Lehman, Verna Bontrager, infants, Elizabeth and Alice Eash, Anna Schrock, Wilma Miller, Mary Miller, Katie Bontrager, and Lettie Bontrager.

Mervin was a farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation was after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7 and will be all day Monday, June 8 at the Joseph Schrock residence, 2780 N. 850 W., Shipshewana.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at the same residence.

Services will be conducted by Bishop Christy Troyer and the home ministers.

Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery, Shipshewana.

Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is assisting the family with arrangements.
