Millersburg, IN - Merle D. Yoder, 88, passed away peacefully, Sunday May 25, at Majestic Care, Goshen.
He was born March 11, 1937 in Yoder, Kansas to Daniel D. and Elizabeth N. Yoder.
On Oct. 17, 1959, he married the love of his life, Mary K. (Bowser) Yoder. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage.
Surviving along with Mary is their daughter, Melissa "Missy" (Ron) Teachman, Manassas, Virginia; grandson, Jacob Jennette, Tokyo, Japan; sister, Nadine Brewster, Port St. Lucie, Florida; and a brother-in-law, Terry Bowser, Goshen.
Along with his parents, Merle was preceded in death by sisters, Freda Martin and Esther Bontrager; and brothers, Andrew D. and Omer D. Yoder.
A U.S. Army veteran, Merle served from 1959-1962.
For more than 28 years, Merle was a draftsman for Carriage RV, Millersburg. Prior to that he was a cabinet builder.
For many years, he was a faithful member of Goshen First Church.
Merle sought enjoyment through gardening, playing softball with his brother, Andy, and making his homemade wine of which he named, "Redoy".
Visitation will be Monday June 2, from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. funeral service at Goshen First Church, 214 S. Fifth St., Goshen.
Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg with military honors.
Merle will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
