Auburn, KY, formerly of Topeka, IN - Melvin Leander Mullet was born in Plain City, OH, to parents Emmanuel and Katie (Miller) Mullet, on December 18, 1942. He passed from this life on January 5, 2026, aged 83. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 5pm until 7:30pm with a service beginning at 7:30pm at the Providence Mennonite Church, located at 237 Doug Brazzel Road, Auburn, KY 42206. Visitation will begin again in Goshen, Indiana on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 2pm until 4pm and 6pm until 8pm at Fair Haven Church located at 13513 State Road 4 in Goshen, Indiana, 46540. Funeral will be Saturday at 10am at the church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Melvin married Katie (Yoder) on May 8, 1964. They lived together as husband and wife for 61 years. For many years he was a member of Fair Haven Mennonite Church in Goshen, Indiana. During his later years he was a member of Providence Mennonite Fellowship in Auburn, KY, where he and Katie lived along with their son Stanley and wife. Melvin is survived by his wife and five children: Karen (Lewis) Weaver, Plain City, OH; LaVern (Rhoda), Columbus, NC; Darlene (Michael) Overholt, Ripley, WV; Stanley (Emmileen), Auburn, KY; Cindy (Brad), Shipshewana, IN; and twenty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four siblings: Menno (Dena) Mullet, Sadie (Levi) Yoder, Emmanuel (Mattie) Mullet, and Ida (late Andrew) Schwartz. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: four brothers - Marvin (late Wilma, Kathryn), Eli (late Verba), Vernon (Rachel), and John; and two sisters - Lizzie (Daniel) Borntreger, and Katie (Amos) Yoder.
