Marlene Ann Shank Obituary

Elkhart, Indiana - Marlene Ann Shank, 81, Elkhart, passed away at 5:35 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen.

She was born on May 7, 1944, in Goshen, to Elmer & Barbara (Helmuth) Homes.

On Dec. 7, 1963, she married Ronald Wayne Shank.

Surviving are her husband; daughters, Lisa (Steve) Fannin of Newport News, Virginia and Pam (Allen) Knight of Elkhart; grandchildren, Katie and Kyle Fannin; brother, Randy (Joyce) Homes of Goshen; and sisters, Sandy (Sam) Birkey of Bloomington and Deb Krawiec.

Preceding her in death are her parents; and brother-in-law, Jeff Krawiec.

Marlene was first and foremost a homemaker and was deeply committed to raising her family.

She later became business manager for Quality Dental Lab of South Bend.

She enjoyed many hobbies such as traveling, camping, reading and cheering for Notre Dame football and basketball.

She was a gifted cook and baker and loved feeding her family.

She was also committed to her church family and served as a youth leader.

Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, friends, and her beloved cat, Tig.

Visitation and service were held at Olive Mennonite Church. Pastor Jason Ramer officiated. Burial followed at Olive (West) Cemetery.
