Mamie L. Cooper Obituary

Mamie L. Cooper, 105, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Hubbard Hill Estates.

She was born Dec. 19, 1910, in Nappanee, to Otto and Ida (Stull) Defreese.

On Dec. 18, 1932, she married George M. Cooper. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2001.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Gregory M. Cooper; seven sisters, Helen Smole, Grace Linn, Virginia Plank, Myrtle Hostetler, Betty Lorenz, Treva Diller and Opal Defreese; and a brother, George Defreese.

A private graveside service will be held Monday, July 11, at Rice Cemetery. Rev. Jay Morris will preside.

Mamie was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church to which memorial contributions may be given.

Waterman-Westbrook-Clouse Funeral Home is entrusted with her arrangements.
