Nappanee, IN - Lovina Helmuth, age 95 years, 2 months, and 8 days, of Nappanee, passed away peacefully on Nov. 1 at her home with family at her side.
She was born on Aug. 24, 1930 to John L. and MaryAnn (Burkholder) Schwartz.
She married Andrew J. Helmuth on Dec. 9, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2000.
Lovina was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church 82-1.
She is survived by 7 children, Clara Fern (Freeman B.) Gingerich of Topeka, Esther Marie (Levi) Hostetler of Shipshewana, Loretta Miller of Etna Green, Mary Ellen (Harry J.) Troyer of Shipshewana, Dorothy Ann (Dennis H.) Troyer of Nappanee, John Henry (Sue Marie) Helmuth of Nappanee, and Martha Louise Schrock of Shipshewana; 34 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 151 great-grandchildren; 26 step great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
Lovina was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sons-in-law, Ernest Miller, Stanley Miller, and Joe Schrock; and all her siblings, Levi Schwartz, Elizabeth Schwartz, Daniel Schwartz, Joseph Schwartz, Milo Schwartz, Menno Schwartz, Malinda Beechy, Barbara Schwartz, Lydia Ann Miller, William Schwartz, Ameilia Schwartz, and John Schwartz.
Friends will be received after 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3 and all day on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the family residence,13904 N 1100 W, Nappanee, IN 46550.
A funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, also at the family residence. Bishop Richard Mast and Home Ministries of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate; and burial will take place at Weldy Cemetery, Nappanee.
