Goshen, IN - Loretta Kuhns, age 78 of Goshen, died peacefully in her sleep at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning, Aug. 8, at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 29, 1947 in Bremen, to Joe and Cora (Yoder) Nissley.

Loretta accepted Christ into her life at the age of 17 and was a long time member of Fairview Mennonite Church in Etna Green.

On Dec. 6, 1964, Loretta married Lotus Kuhns at Fairview.

She lived her entire life in Northern Indiana and had worked for 20 years at Holiday Rambler Corp. as a Cabinet Maker.

She then worked for over 10 years as a cook at Come and Dine in Wakarusa before working as a house cleaner for several years before her retirement at the age of 65.

Loretta is survived by her husband of 61 years, 8 months and 8 days, Lotus Kuhns of Goshen; a son, Nathan (Laura) Kuhns of Portage, Michigan; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Kuhns, Alexis Kuhns, and Sierra Kuhns, all of Portage, Michigan; a great-grandson, Sawyer Stoyanoff; and 5 siblings, Marie Graber of Nappanee, Ray Nissley of Goshen, Mary Bontrager of Nappanee, Glenn Nissley of Burr Oak, Michigan, and Judy (Leo) Howell of Rockvale, Tennessee.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug.11, and from 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug., 12, at the Bethel Mennonite Church, 25402 Co Rd 50, Nappanee, Indiana 46550.

A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Bethel Mennonite Church and burial will follow in Fairview Mennonite Church Cemetery.
