Wakarusa, Indiana - Linda L. Sheets, age 90 of Wakarusa, died on Thursday evening, July 2, at her residence.

Linda was born on Oct. 26, 1935 in Nappanee, to Marvin and Joy Berneice (George) Mast.

She was a 1954 graduate of Goshen High School and was a lifelong resident of Elkhart County.

Linda married John Yoder in 1956; and he preceded her in death in 1961.

She then married Donald Sheets in 1964; and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2022.

Linda spent most of her life working in the home, but she briefly worked at NIPSCO in Goshen as well as Klines and Wolfbergs.

She was a longtime member of Wakarusa Missionary Church and served the church in many capacities. She helped with Vacation Bible School, funeral dinners, prayer requests for her class, taking attendance for Sunday School class, teaching 4-year-old Sunday School class, taking care of babies in the nursery and helped maintain the camp grounds.

In her free time, Linda enjoyed gardening and sewing.

She especially loved the time she got taking care of her great-grandchildren.

Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Linda is survived by 3 sons, Jim (Retha) Yoder of Nappanee, David (Tena) Sheets of Nappanee, and Ronald (Patti) Sheets of Goshen; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Janet Wileman of Goshen, Jolene Franks of Goshen and Margaret (Dennis) Hahn of Goshen; 3 brothers, George (Charlotte) Mast of Goshen, K. Don (Wanda) Mast of Goshen, and Tom (Pat) Mast of Goshen.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and siblings, Sam Mast, Emma Charles, and Terry Mast.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa, and from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, at Wakarusa Missionary Church.

A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the church and burial will follow in South Union Cemetery.
