Middlebury - Leah L. Schwartz peacefully transitioned from this life on July 6, at her home in Middlebury, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 85.

Born on May 7, 1939, in Milan, IN, she was the cherished daughter of Samuel and Lillie (Delagrange) Schwartz.

Leah was the youngest of 13 siblings and is survived by two of them.

On Nov. 4, 1956, Leah married the love of her life, Jake J Schwartz Jr.

Together, thet raised three sons, Jake, Jim, and Phil.

Leah found immense joy in her role as grandmother to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness.

Leah's life was a testament to faith and resilience. She exemplified strength and grace, guided by her unwavering faith in Christ.

Her life was marked by compassion, kindness, and a profound love for her family and community.

Leah faced and overcame breast cancer twice, demonstrating her courage and determination in the face of adversity.

Leah was a devoted member of First Mennonite Church of Middlebury, where her faith found its deepest expression.

She touched many lives with her warmth and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Leah would like to extend her heartfelt appreciation to her son, Jim, who cared for her during her last few years. His unwavering support and dedication provided her with comfort and strength during her final journey.

In her passing, Leah leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to have known her.

Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, comforting them with memories of her gentle spirit and loving presence.

May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her, in the embrace of her Savior whom she faithfully served throughout her life.
