Syracuse, Indiana - Lauralyn Kay Welty, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, Feb. 1, surrounded by her family at the age of 87.

Born in Goshen, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen Rule (Sparklin).

She lived a life filled with love; and her presence will be missed by all who knew her.

Lauralyn was a proud graduate of Goshen High School, Class of 1957.

She then moved to the Syracuse area where she was drawn by the tranquility and beauty of the lakes.

She became actively involved in participating in Water Safety and the "Top Pop" Father's Day flotilla. She also contributed her time and effort to the Business of Professional Women and was eventually a part of the Mothers Club.

Lauralyn enjoyed a variety of hobbies that enriched her life. In her free time, she enjoyed roller skating, golf, and boating, and she cherished time spent with her horse, Tex.

For 15 years, she worked as a legal secretary before staying home to be with her daughter. Family was most important to her.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beckie and Jeff Moore of Syracuse.

She also leaves behind her grandson, Jeffrey (Chelsey) Moore; and great-granddaughter, Amelia, who continue her legacy of love and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Titus Funeral Home of Syracuse is entrusted with Lauralyn's Life Celebration.

The visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, at Salem Community Church- Wilmot, 11188 W. 325 S. Larwill, Indiana 46764 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

At 6:00 p.m., the memorial service will begin with Pastor Eric Hickman officiating.

Her family kindly requests that memorial gifts in honor of Lauralyn be made to Salem Community Church or A Heart for Kids, 10951 S. 100 E. Pendleton, Indiana 46064.
