Goshen, IN - Larry Jay Warstler, 84, passed away on July 5.

He was born on Aug. 9, 1941, in Goshen, to Adrian Warstler and Martha (Zentz) Miller.

He was a 1960 graduate of Goshen High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in the 3rd 84th Battalion, Pershing Missile Division, in Germany.

He dedicated 63 years to the Boy Scouts of America and Order of the Arrow, receiving the Silver Beaver Award, the highest recognition a Scouter can receive.

He was an exceptional artist, woodworker, and mechanic who had a passion for hotrods and restoring classic cars to their former glory.

He deeply loved his Native American roots, nature, and wildlife. He loved spending his time fishing and camping.

He is survived by his children: son, Troy (Haley) Warstler of Middlebury, Heather (Nate) Elliott of Minnesota, Ron (Robin) Sayles of White Pigeon, Coni (Becca) McCloughen of South Bend, and Carrie (Weber) Miller of Goshen. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Warstler of Burket. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Brenda (Warstler) Hartman; grandson, Robert McCloughen; and his brothers, Bryan Warstler and Jeff Warstler.

Public visitation will be on Friday, July 10, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.

Private burial will take place at Violett Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Boy Scouts of America or National Park Foundation.
