Lamar A. Burkholder, age 66, of Milford, died unexpectedly of natural causes, Monday, December 23, 2024 at his residence. He was born March 13, 1958 to Alvin E. and Anna Mae (Hochstetler) Burkholder in Mishawaka. On July 10, 2020, he married Carol (Graber) Helmuth in Nappanee. Lamar lived his lifetime in the Nappanee area. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker. He had formerly worked at Ayr Cabinets. Lamar also drove for the Amish, he just enjoyed driving. He enjoyed mushroom hunting and nature. He was an airplane enthusiast and enjoyed horses especially the Gypsy Vanner breed. He loved spending time with his family.

Lamar is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Emily Ann (Donald "Trey" Larry Doan III) , Rochester; stepchildren, Adam (Lorene) Helmuth, Milford, Thomas (Catherine) Helmuth, Goshen, Lea (James) Yoder, Ligonier; grandchildren, Melissa Helmuth, Caleb Helmuth, Olivia Yoder, Greyson Yoder, Kinsley Yoder; mother, Anna Mae Burkholder, Nappanee; siblings, Mary Lou (Samuel) Zehr, Goshen and Larry (Marlene) Burkholder, Nappanee. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin E. Burkholder and sisters, Etta Fern Yoder and Sharon Sue Burkholder.

Family and friends may call 1-4 and 5-8, Friday, December 27, 2024 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for 1 hour prior to the 10:30 am Funeral Service, Saturday, December 28th at Bethany Community Church, 19003 US 6, New Paris. Loren Graber will officiate and burial will be in Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to family for a tree to be planted in his memory.
