Katie Fern Miller, 59, of LaGrange (district: 14), died at 3:40 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at her residence. She was born on January 18, 1966, in LaGrange, to Melvin and Edna Ellen (Miller) Shrock. On May 2, 1985, in LaGrange, she married Mervin E. Miller, he survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are thirteen children, Mary Etta (Noah) Fry of Wolcottville, JoAnna (Devon) Hostetler of LaGrange, Marlin (Ruth Ann) Miller of LaGrange, Sara Fern (James) Whetstone of Topeka, Sharon Kay (Jonathan) Whetstone of LaGrange, Merle (Kathryn) Miller of LaGrange, Marion (Ruby) Miller of LaGrange, Melvin Dean (Wilma) Miller of LaGrange, Kenneth (Pauline) Miller of LaGrange, Timothy James (special friend Heidi Lehman) Miller, Lisa Sue Miller, Ruth Ellen Miller, Kathy Irene Miller all at home; 42 grandchildren; six sisters, Carolyn Mae (Levi) Schrock of Wolcottville, Mary Etta (Daniel) Bontrager of Markesan, WI, Ida Anna (Dewayne) Miller of Topeka, LuElla (Sherman) Miller of LaGrange, Ruby Amelia (Lonnie) Yoder of Shipshewana, Edna Ellen (Wyman) Miller of Middlebury; five brothers, Marvin (LeAnna) Shrock of LaGrange, Mervin (JoAnna) Shrock of LaGrange, Marion (Ruby) Shrock of LaGrange, Elmer (Emma) Shrock of LaGrange, Ernest (Esther) Shrock of LaGrange; brother-in-law, John Kuhns of LaGrange. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Mary Esther Shrock; and a sister, Susie Irene Kuhns. Katie was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will be after 2:00 on Sunday, March 9, and all day Monday, March 10, at the family's residence, 2525 S. 050 W., LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Tuesday, March 11, also at the family's residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Eli P. Miller and the home ministers. Burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery, LaGrange. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury is in charge of arrangements.
