Syracuse, Indiana - Kathleen Richter Cone passed peacefully Sunday evening, June 28.

Kathy was a lot of things: a journalist, a business woman, an entrepreneur and a political progressive.

She was always ready to join a good cause or a protest and traveled anywhere for a concert or to see her children and grandchildren.

Kathy received a Bachelor of Arts degree at Case Western Reserve and a Masters degree from Indiana University.

She was born in Woodbury, New Jersey on Sept. 27, 1948.

She married Indiana native, Dana Cone, on January 3, 1980.

Together, they built Cone Construction into a thriving business and community contributor.

Kathy wrote for the Warsaw Times-Union and The Goshen News and loved her book club meetings.

She enjoyed brewing with the Kettleheads and spending days out on the lakes with family and friends.

She was proud of her Irish roots and was our family historian.

She is survived by her husband, Dana; her sons, Daniel and Michael; daughters in law, Natasha and Kristin; five grandchildren, Finnian, Camper, Autumn, Alejandro and Mateo; and her sister, Carolyn Kelemen.

Her family held a party in her memory on July 2, at her home.
