Joy Joan Blough


Joy Joan Blough, 89, Bristol, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, in her home.
She was born April 2, 1929, in Mishawaka, to Floyd and Ada (Kaufman) Nifong.
She married Richard J. Blough, March 21, 1948, in Bristol. He died March 20, 2013.
Surviving are her children, David (Connie) Blough and Dawn White, both of Bristol and Brent Blough, Elkhart; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Earl, Russell, Floyd Jr., Walter and Ralph Nifong.
Joy graduated in 1947 from Bristol High School and was a cafeteria worker and bus driver for Elkhart Community Schools.
She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and sang in the choir and helped with child evangelism in Elkhart County.
She loved to sing country and western music with the Tumbleweeds and sang at Bonneyville Mill. She also liked to yodel. She was an avid collector of dolls, clocks and dishes.
Visitation for Joy will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Northside Baptist Church and one hour prior to funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday, also at the church. Pastor Nathan Breneman will officiate.
Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery.
