Goshen, IN - Joe L. Yoder, 95, of Goshen, formerly of Middlebury, passed away peacefully at 1:20 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Waterford Crossing Health Center, Goshen.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1930, in Arcola, IL, to Levi D. and Elizabeth (Hochstedler) Yoder.
On Oct. 18, 1949, in Arthur, Illinois, he married Rebecca Miller. She died Sept. 6, 2022.
Surviving are daughter, Maggie (Jerry) Mast of Millersburg; four sons, Andrew (Diana) Yoder of Goshen, Larry (Esther) Yoder of Middlebury, Marlin (Eloise) Yoder of Shipshewana, John (Shelly) Yoder of LaGrange; daughter-in-law, Irene L. Yoder of Montezuma, Georgia; 17 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew (Viola) Yoder of Franklin, Kentucky, Henry (Karen) Yoder of Middlebury; sister, Fannie Miller of Shipshewana; and sister-in-law, Rosie Yoder of Arthur, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Levi and Joseph Yoder; daughter, Fran Yoder; one great-grandson; two sisters, Mattie (Ezra) Miller and Edna (Jonas) Herschberger; brother, Mel Yoder; and brother-in-law, Allen Miller.
Joe worked as a truck driver in the RV industry, delivering units for Coachmen, Jayco, and Carriage.
He enjoyed sharing stories and reminiscing about the past with his family.
Joe was a member of Rosewood Fellowship.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, and 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, at Fairhaven Mennonite Church, 13513 State Road 4, Goshen.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, also at the church. Services will be conducted by the Rosewood Fellowship Ministry Team.
Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be given to Christian Aid Ministries.
