James E. Sorg Obituary

Goshen, IN - James E. Sorg, 80, died on Wednesday, April 15, at home from natural causes.

Jim was born on Oct. 20, 1945 in Goshen to Sidney S. and Mary K. (McClure) Sorg.

He is survived by a brother, John (Linda) Sorg; a sister, Mary Lou Hetler; and five nieces and nephews, Kim (George) Bergan, Darin (Rachael) Sorg, Jennifer (Wes) Davis, Rick (Lisa) Hetler and Sara Hetler; 13 great-nieces and nephews; and five great-great nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard Hetler.

A 1964 Goshen High School graduate, Jim served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

After his honorable discharge, he returned to Goshen and began work for Sorg Jewelers. He studied diamond setting and jewelry engraving to make himself better at the jewelry store. He worked there for 15 years and also worked for Rite Way Auto Sales before retirement.

He enjoyed exercising and spending time with friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
