Jack Frederick Nelson, 74, of Shipshewana, died on April 3, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Jack was born on March 9, 1950, in Goshen, to Marion L. and Marianna (Gage) Nelson.

Living his lifetime in the Shipshewana area, he had been a dairy milk tester. Jack was a farmer alongside his father for many years.

Jack was a graduate of Purdue University and an avid Purdue fan.

He was a member of the Shore Church in Shipshewana.

On August 11, 1973, at the Forks Mennonite Church in Middlebury, he married Cheryl L. Yoder. Mrs. Nelson preceded him in death on May 27, 2017.

Surviving is his mother, Marianna Nelson of Shipshewana; his daughter, Erica (Clay) Reyenga of Indianapolis; his son, Jeffrey (Elena) Nelson of Valparaiso; his three grandchildren, Jake, Nick, and Jenna Nelson; and two sisters, Jane Woodworth of Shipshewana, and Judy (Tim) Yoder of Goshen.

Along with his wife, Cheryl, his father, Marion Nelson preceded him in death.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the Shore Church, 7235 W 100 N, Shipshewana. Rev. Nic Raber will officiate the services.

Burial will follow at Shore Cemetery in Shipshewana.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April10, from 3-7 p.m. at the church
