Goshen, IN - Ivory M. Yoder, 52, passed away Saturday, June 28, at her home, having successfully beaten cancer but ultimately succumbing to complications arising from subsequent health issues over the last several years.
Born in Goshen, on Oct. 12, 1972, Ivory was a lifelong resident and a cherished member of the community.
She graduated from Goshen High School and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
On Oct. 2, 1992, Ivory married the love of her life, Brent Yoder, in Goshen. Together, they built a beautiful family.
Survivors include her husband, Brent Yoder; her loving mother, Ruth (Swart) Nicholson; two daughters, MacKenzie Yoder of Indianapolis and Caitlin Yoder of Mesa, Arizona; two siblings, Tiffiny (Stoney) Hull and Robbie Nicholson, both of Goshen; and five cats.
Ivory had a zest for life that was evident in her passions. She found immense joy in cooking and baking, delighting friends and family. She loved her feline companions and was affectionately known as the "Crazy Cat Lady," a title she embraced with pride. However, her heart truly belonged to her immediate family.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 2, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Following the visitation, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
A private burial of her cremated remains will take place at Miller 8 Square Cemetery at a later date.
