Isabelle Hummel, age 93, formerly of Goshen, Indiana, passed away at her home in Ingleside, Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Isabelle was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Elmer and Lettie (Holderman) Grant.

On Dec. 20, 1941, she married Warren G. Hummel in Elkhart. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are her sons, Dale (Elsie) Hummel of Elkhart and Lee Hummel of Ingleside. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Isabelle was preceded in death her parents, husband, 12 siblings and her daughter, Jeanette Shinabarger.

Isabelle was formerly employed at Allen's Bakery, City News and Bookstore, and Tepe's, but spent most of her life caring for her family as a homemaker.

She was a longtime member of the Starlight Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and First Brethren Church of Elkhart.

There will be two hours of visitation prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Jan. 5, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Elkhart.

Interment will follow at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
