Syracuse, IN - Hannah Mary Martin, age 85 of Syracuse, went to be with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Thursday night, Feb.12.

She was the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Martin) Martin, born to them on May 18, 1940 in Wakarusa.

On Aug. 21, 1960, she was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Mahlon Martin. They were loyal companions for 62 years until he was called Home to be with the Lord on Aug. 25, 2022.

Hannah Mary was a lifetime area resident and a faithful member of Salem Mennonite Church.

She enjoyed cooking and could often be found working in her flower beds. Her love for flowers was evident in her time working as a designer at Wooden Wagon Floral Shop.

She had also worked alongside her daughter serving residents at Greencroft, working in the dining hall and kitchen.

Above all, she loved her Lord and was a dedicated farmer's wife, working in tandem with her husband on the farm.

She was a loving wife and mother to her daughter, Marceil Ellen Martin of Syracuse. She survives along with a brother, Louis (Carol) Martin of Nappanee.

Hannah Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mahlon Martin; and a brother, Elverne Martin.

Family and friends may call on Monday, Feb. 16, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St. Nappanee, Indiana 46550 and on Tuesday Feb. 17, from 9-10 a.m. at the Salem Mennonite Church, 23984 CR 46, New Paris, Indiana 46553.

A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. at the church with Pastor Terrill Yoder officiating.

Burial will follow in Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery.
