Ervin U. Miller


Ervin U. Miller, 76, LaGrange, died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, at Life Care Center, LaGrange.
He was born Oct. 15, 1942 in Shipshewana, to Urias U. and Beulah (Miller) Miller.
On Oct. 28, 1965 in LaGrange, he married Alta Marie Yoder; she survives.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, are seven sons, Leo (Waneta) Miller,LaGrange, Leroy (Karen) Miller, David (Wilma) Miller, both of Shipshewana, Ervin Jr. (Ludmila) Miller, Henderson, Nevada, Perry (Carrie) Miller, Joe (Marla) Miller, both of Shipshewana, Merlin (Loretta) Miller, Ligonier; four daughters, Mary (Felty) Lambright, Goshen, Wilma Yoder, Topeka, Katie (Wilbur) Bontrager, LaGrange, LeAnna (Allen) Troyer, Wolcottville; step-mother, Edna R. Miller, Goshen; 48 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six brothers, Floyd (Anna Mae) Miller, LaGrange, Perry (Sadie) Miller, Middlebury, Andy (Dorothy) Miller, LaGrange, Ura (Barbara) Miller, Hillsboro, Wisconsin, Melvin (Karen) Miller, Angola, Elmer (Brenda) Miller, Hillsdale, Michigan; five sisters, Mary (Ora) Mishler, Wilma (Ernest) Graber, of both Hillsboro, Wisconsin, Elsie (Amos) Bontrager, Shipshewana, Susie (Mervin) Lambright, LaGrange, Esther (Floyd) Miller, Fremont, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Lester Yoder; brother, Elva Miller; sister, Amanda Miller.
He was a chicken farmer and worked at Pleasant Haven, Goshen, as a receptionist. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Thursday, August 15, and all day Friday, August 16, at the family residence, 2455 S. 250 W., LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17 also at the family residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop DeWayne Bontrager and the home ministers. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange.
Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is assisting the family with arrangements.
