Elizabeth E. Nisley
SHIPSHEWANA [mdash] Elizabeth E. Nisley, 86, Shipshewana, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, at her residence, after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 1, 1933, in LaGrange County.
On March 8, 1955, in LaGrange County, she married Irvin Nisley. He survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are six daughters, LeAnna (Freeman) Miller, Shipshewana; Katie (Tobie) Miller, LaGrange; Treva (Henry) Yoder, Shipshewana; Marietta (Vernon) Bontrager, Middlebury; Erma Nisley, Fort Wayne; and Wanita (Eli) Brenneman, Sarasota, Florida; a son, David (Lorene) Nisley, Bloomingdale, Michigan; 32 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren and a sister, Laura (Ivan) Schmucker, Dalton, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Amanda (Mullet) Bontrager; a grandson; a great-grandson; four brothers, infants Jerry and Ervin Bontrager; Mahlon Bontrager; Melvin Bontrager; two sisters, infant Nona Bontrager and Annie Miller.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Due to current national health concerns the immediate family will be holding private visitation and funeral services. The community is encouraged to support the family by mailing sympathy cards to them at 0285 S. 900 West, Shipshewana, IN 46565. Services will be conducted by Bishop Marvin Bontrager and the home ministers.
Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury is in charge of arrangements.
