Etna Green, Indiana - Eli L. Kuhns, age 91 of Etna Green, died Sunday evening, March 1, at his residence.

Eli was born on Oct. 30, 1934 in Kosciusko County, to Levi J. and Elizabeth (Hershberger) Kuhns.

He was a lifetime area resident and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

His first marriage was to Mary Ellen Miller on March 1, 1956. She preceded him in death on May 30, 1962.

Eli then married Amanda Graber on Oct. 1, 1964. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2013.

Eli is survived by 4 children, Alton (Treva) Kuhns of Etna Green, Pauline Kuhns of Etna Green, LaVern (Arlene) Kuhns of Goshen, and Ernest (SuEtta) Kuhns of Etna Green; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Alvin (Verna) Kuhns of Shipshewana, and Freeman Kuhns of Milford; and a sister-in-law, Clara Kuhns of Kingston, Wisconsin.

Eli was preceded in death by his parents; 2 wives; son, Jerry Kuhns; great granddaughter, Katy Elizabeth Kuhns; sisters, Malinda Miller, Emma Miller, Edna Miller, and Amanda Chupp; 4 brothers, Roman Kuhns, Melvin Kuhns and 2 stillborn brothers.

Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, and all day Wednesday, March 4, at the Alton Kuhns residence, 7394 W. 850 N., Etna Green, Indiana 46524.

A funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, also at the Alton Kuhns residence.

Home Ministries of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will take place in Graber Cemetery.

Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
