Nappanee, Indiana - Dorothy Borkholder age 90 of Nappanee, died at 10:07 p.m. on Wednesday night, June 24, of natural causes at her home.

Dorothy was born on Dec. 20, 1935 in Elkhart, to Daniel D. and Sylvia (Schmucker) Bender.

She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

On Nov. 26, 1953 Dorothy married Owen D. Borkholder. He preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1984. To this union were born 7 daughters and 7 sons.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Wayne (Irene) Borkholder of Nappanee, Glen (Ida Mae) Borkholder of Nappanee, O. Lamar (Jolene) Borkholder of Bremen, Christena (Christ) Kurtz of Nappanee, Rosetta (Melvin) Kramer of Bremen, Donna Schmucker of Nappanee, Richard (Leanna) Borkholder of Nappanee, Dennis (Esther) Borkholder of Nappanee, Doris (John) Troyer of Nappanee, Steven (Jolene) Borkholder of Nappanee, Mary (Mervin) Bontrager of Nappanee, Ruby (Joseph) Borkholder of Wakarusa, Floyd (Linda) Borkholder of Bremen, Linda (Matthew) Miller of Wakarusa; 92 grandchildren; 267 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Christena (Melvin) Mullet of Sugar Creek, Ohio, Marie Hostetler of Nappanee, Barbara Troyer of Carbondale, Illinois, Esther Bender of Wakarusa; and sister-in-law Anna Mae Bender of Bremen.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Ed Bender and Floyd Bender; brothers-in-law, Mahlon Hostetler and Orla Troyer; sister-in-law, Martha Bender; son-in-law, John Schmucker; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. on Friday, June 26, and all day Saturday, June 27, at the Borkholder family residence, 699 Marshall County Line Rd, Nappanee.

A funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, also at the Borkholder Residence.

Bishop Martin Yoder and Home Ministries of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate.

Burial will take place in Borkholder Cemetery.
