Elkhart, In - It is with heavy hearts and profound memories that we announce that David C. Leatherman has obtained his Heavenly reward on Oct.10, while being cared for at Greencroft Healthcare. David was 92 years old.

He was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania to Arthur and Barbara (Nyce) Leatherman.

David graduated from Goshen College.

He had a long career serving the church at Mennonite Mission Network in the finance office and serving on the board at Amigo Centre.

David was Elkhart County Treasurer for 8 years.

He finished his career at The Mennonite Foundation.

David and his wife, Julia did service assignments several times in India, Mexico, Bangladesh, Belize and Kenya.

David was preceded in his heavenly journey by his wife, Julia; son, Duane; and brothers, Harold, Paul, and Warren; and sisters, Martha Leatherman and Ethel Rush.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Nancy; daughter, Diane (Richard) Yoder; son, Ron (Miriam); and son, Lee (Donna). There are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

David deeply loved the Lord and was a dear friend to many.

Visitation will be on Friday, Oct. 31, from 2-5 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 2-4 p.m.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1. Music begins at 4 p.m.

Visitation and services will be held at Waterford Mennonite Church 65975 SR 15 south of Goshen.
