New Paris, Indiana - Daniel Holmes, 64, New Paris, died Oct. 1, 2020, at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, following complications from a heart transplant.

He was born March 2, 1956, in Pahokee, Florida, to Roger Howk and Shirley Herman.

He married Connie (VanderReyden) Holmes on Sept. 12, 1976.

Surviving are his wife, Connie, New Paris; two sons, Jason (Jamee) Holmes, Goshen, and Nathan (Jennifer) Holmes, Goshen; and six grandchildren, Jasmine, Jason, Owen, Tyler and twins, Jaelyn and Jaxon.

Preceding him in death are his parents and a daughter, Heather Holmes.

Daniel was self-employed. He also worked at Dan's Appliance Sales & Service and DRS Cycle, Goshen. Daniel was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast who was involved in flat tracking, road racing, and Bonneville Salt Flats. He also enjoyed camping.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, with the service following at 2 p.m. Pastor Tom Thews will officiate.

Burial in Clinton Frame Cemetery will be at a later date.
