Craig C. Leslie


Craig C. Leslie, 74, of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, and formerly of Goshen, Indiana, died Sunday, July 14, at Westkota Manor in Wessington Springs.
At his request, there will be no formal service.
Craig C. Leslie was born April 9, 1945, to Lloyd and Margaret (Noe) Leslie in Wolf Lake, Indiana. Craig was one of eight children, and at a young age he enjoyed working alongside his dad on the family farm. He attended school in Ligonier, graduating in 1963.
When he was 18, he received the letter from Uncle Sam to answer the draft. Craig served four years in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Thailand. Upon leaving the Air Force, Craig joined the police department in Goshen, Indiana.
Craig was united in marriage to Rebecca Keller on April 8, 1972, in Benton, Indiana. To this union, they welcomed two sons, Clayton and Brandon.
Craig retired from the police department in 1992 after over 21 years. After he retired, and Becky left the Post Office, they moved to Wessington Springs, where they owned Travelers Motel from 1992 until retirement in 2017. Grateful for having shared Craig's life are his wife: Becky Leslie, Wessington Springs; two sons, Clayton (Sara) Leslie and their children, Liberty, Justice, Sophia and Reagan, De Pere, Wisconsin, and Brandon (Sara) Leslie and their children, Micah, Joshua, Levi and Seth, Aberdeen, South Dakota; his siblings, Linda (Paul) Miller, Cromwell, Indiana, Bruce (Chris) Leslie, Ligonier, Indiana, Peggy (Rick) Correll, Larwill, Indiana, Joyce Kuhn, Albion, Indiana, and Vivian (Morty) Wicker, Ligonier, Indiana; brothers-in-law, Charlie (Becky Sue) Keller, Wessington Springs, and Richard (Kirstin) Keller, Goshen, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Pam (Gene) Kenny, Mauldin, South Carolina; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding Craig in death are his parents, Lloyd and Margaret; and his siblings, Lorraine Poffenberger and Brian Leslie.
