Betty Jane Gillette Mills Schieber, 92, of Union, Michigan died Wednesday August 11 ,2021 at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born December 21, 1928, in Chicago, IL to Samuel and Clara (Wilcox) Mills.

She married Fred E. Schieber, Sr., in 1946; and he preceded her in death in 1992.

Surviving are 3 children, Fred (Becky) Schieber, Jr., of Union, MI, Nancy Butler and Karen (Ron) Duvall, both of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred and a brother, Bill Mills.

Betty received her high school diploma in 1975. She enjoyed cooking, baking, decorating cakes and making flower arrangements. She also enjoyed researching genealogy and hunting agates on the shores of Lake Superior.

Funeral services for Betty will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the start of the service. Pastor Keith McFarren from Bethel United Methodist Church will preside and burial will follow at Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, MI.
