Middlebury, IN - Anna E. Schwartz, 83, of Middlebury, (district: 57-2), died at 5:45 p.m., on Tuesday, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 30, 1942, in Plain City, Ohio, to Eli and Fannie (Bontreger) Gingerich.

On Nov. 5, 1964, in Middlebury, she married Levi H. Schwartz. He died on May 28, 2000.

Surviving are six sons, Samuel (Elnora) Schwartz of Topeka, Phillip (Mary) Schwartz of Middlebury, John (Angela) Schwartz of Middlebury, Eli (Sara) Schwartz of White Pigeon, Michigan, Joseph (Mary) Schwartz of Middlebury, Jason (Brittney) Schwartz of Bristol; three daughters, Rhoda (Keith) Hochstetler of Middlebury, Mary (Elva) Lehman of Middlebury, Miriam (David) Miller of Goshen; 34 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Gingerich of LaGrange, Samuel (Ruth) Gingerich of Mio, Michigan; four sisters, Esther Eicher of Shipshewana, Miriam (Alvin) Yoder of Middlebury, Martha (Ernie) Slabach of Middlebury, Susie (Jerry) Miller of Middlebury; brother-in-law, Menno (Inez) Petersheim of Topeka; two stepsisters, Polly (Harvey) Borntrager of Bethany, Missouri, Anna (Mose) Wengard of LaGrange; step sister-in-law, Elsie Borkholder of Middlebury; stepbrother, Samuel (Esther) Borkholder of Middlebury.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Esther Schwartz; a son, Levi, Jr. Schwartz; two great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Joe Eicher; a sister-in-law, Susie Gingerich, and a stepbrother, Ezra Borkholder.

Anna was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, and all day Thursday, June 11, at the family's residence, 11364 CR 116 Middlebury.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 12, at the Marvin Nisley residence, 11309 CR 116 Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Bishop David Miller and the home ministers.

Burial will be in Naylor Cemetery, Shipshewana.
