Alice J. Stanfield, 91, Goshen, passed away peacefully to go home to see her Lord and Savior Thursday, Dec. 20, at Greencroft Goshen Health Care.
She was born June 21, 1927, in Goshen, to Cecil and Nora (Hoover) Barringer.
On Dec. 24, 1963, she married Herbert M. Stanfield. He preceded her in death July 6, 2002.
Surviving are two sons, Steven (Ann) Hughes and Robert (Peg) Hughes, and two grandsons, Mike Hughes and Jeff (Barbara) Hughes, all of Goshen; four great-grandchildren, Brooke and Molly Hughes, Danielle (John) Johnson, Andrew Brice Hughes; and a great-great-granddaughter, Scarlett Leazer. Also surviving are stepdaughter, Becki (Richard) Bushong, Florida; three step-granddaughters; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Elizabeth (Chuck) DeVault; brother, John (Nancy) Barringer; and three stepsons.
Alice was a member of Goshen Christian Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, camping and working in her flower garden, going out to eat, doing crossword puzzles and playing euchre.
The family would like to thank the staff at Greencroft "Haven" for all their love and kindness shown towards our Mom.
A celebration of life gathering will take place from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Goshen Christian Church, 2133 Berkey Ave., Goshen, IN 46526.
