Ada M. Nickel Obituary

Ada Marie Nickel, 78, died Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Greenleaf Health Campus, Elkhart.

She was born July 23, 1938, in Lakewood, Ohio, to Victor and Louise (Kremser) Zehnder.

Surviving are four children, Naomi (James) Hilfinger of Elkhart, Kimberly (John) Gallagher of Goshen, Thomas (Stacey) Nickel of Bristol and Sarah (Timothy) Myers of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild and four siblings.

Ada was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and baking, but most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ada was an elementary school teacher and homemaker before being employed with Yoder Oil Company as a sales coordinator and receptionist for almost 30 years.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Elkhart. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 19, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Goshen. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery and The Rev. Andrew Wollman will preside.

Memorial contributions may be given to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund.
