William (Bill)'s Story

William P. Bennett, 72, Millersburg, a wonderful loving husband and great friend, died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born Sept. 1, 1944, in Hempstead, New York, to Thomas P. and Blanche (Confer) Bennett.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diana (Harrison); a sister, Janet (Ron) Yadon, Hartford City; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Sasha.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Bennett, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Mr. Bennett graduated from Purdue University in 1968. He worked 38 years for Dana Corporation at their locations in Fort Wayne, Edgerton, Wisconsin, and Syracuse, until his retirement in 2005.
Bill was a longtime rural Millersburg resident. He enjoyed helping others, vegetable gardening and sharing its bounty with neighbors and friends. He was a longtime active member of the Michiana Mopar Club.
Friends may call Saturday, Aug. 5, with visitation from 2 p.m. until a celebration of life service at 2:30 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army Christmas Families or a charity of the donor's choice.
